"Aliyah" literally means to "ascend" or to "go up". In modern days, it has come to mean  'Going back

up to the land of Israel" or "Going up to the Bima for the honor of reading the Torah portion".

This ketubah comes in 2 color schemes---RED AND BLUE and RAINBOW COLORS.

It features a Husband and Wife "going up". The largest combination texts will

not fit on this ketubah, but all other texts will.

Aliyah (uh-LEE-uh; ah-lee-AH) Lit. ascension. 1) Reading from the Torah (or reciting a blessing over

the reading) during services, which is considered an honor (generally referred to in English as having or

getting an aliyah and pronounced uh-LEE-uh ). 2) Immigrating to Israel (generally referred to in English

as making aliyah and pronounced ah-lee-AH).
